Our Lady of the Ledge Shrine

Project Details

The shrine depicting Our Lady of the Ledge is a combination of sculpture and painting. She is seated on Niagara Dolomite Stone, also referred to as Fond du Lac Limestone, by a gently flowing spring. In a state of tranquil prayer and intercession, she watches over her children, the students of St. Mary’s Springs who are by her side and at her feet. The mural behind this central image captures the natural beauty of the surroundings, and serves as a pathway to a Blessing Font adorned with a glass mosaic representing the nearby springs. The mural depicts the original school building and typical farm and wildlife scenes found in the area.
