Project Details
At Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside, Illinois, the Archdiocese of Chicago has created a first-of-its-kind Catholic memorial for families and loved ones affected by suicide. Inspired Artisans was entrusted with creating two original sculptures for the memorial—Ascension and Embrace—each conceived around a simple purpose: to offer a place of comfort, prayer and remembrance.
Embrace is a six-foot bronze angel whose wings shelter a granite bench, inviting visitors to sit quietly within its embrace—to pray, reflect and remember.
This project challenged us technically and artistically, but its purpose remained clear throughout the process. Every decision ultimately came back to the people who would someday visit this place carrying profound loss.
