Project Details
Inspired Artisans was honored to contribute to the newly constructed church of St. Mary of the Hill, located on the campus of Holy Hill Basilica. After several years of construction, the project reached its culmination with the dedication Mass, celebrated by Archbishop Jeffrey Grob.
As part of the sanctuary design, Inspired Artisans commissioned artist Katie Musolff to execute a large-scale mural rooted in a vision articulated by Fr. Jude Peters, pastor of the parish. The design was developed over approximately ten months, followed by a six-week on site period painting the mural. The resulting composition translates this vision into a cohesive work that reinforces both the liturgical function and architectural integrity of the space.
The dedication followed the full rite of consecration, including the sprinkling of holy water, the anointing of the altar and walls, and the use of incense throughout the church. These elements underscore the symbolic transformation of the building into a sacred space set apart for worship.
A defining aspect of the project was witnessing the congregation enter and receive their new spiritual home. The completion of the mural formed one part of a broader effort to create an environment rooted in beauty, symbolism, and tradition.
Inspired Artisans is grateful to have played a role in bringing this vision to fruition.
